INDIA’S PROGRESS SINCE
 INDEPENDENCE

After much struggle and having many demonstrations, 

we were lucky enough to become free from the British yoke in 1947. At that time, India was looming under a high economic stress and a lot of complicated problems had opened their mouth. Five year plans came into operation. State wise planning was initiated in order to combat the problems.

   People were ignorant and illiterate. They were quite indifferent towards education. Schools, colleges and other professional institution were very few. Poverty had encompassed in and lack of interest had kept the children illiterate. Now a great transformation has occurred. We have multiple schools, colleges and universities at our help where crores of students widen their mental horizons. Our genius personalities are in great demand in many foreign countries and in this way India has earned her own name and fame.

     In the field of agriculture and food grains we have become self-sufficient

and rather than we export wheat and sugar to some countries.Certain commodities of cash crops are in great demand. Green irrigation has improved considerably. Many dams have been construed which supply electricity and the same is used for tube wells ,houses and industries.

    As far as means of communications and transportation are concerned, India has the largest rail-road linkage. From Kashmir to Kanyakumari and from Assam to Gujarat we have the best mode of transportation.

    In order to uplift the backward classes, plans and schemes have been initiated in all the states. People are enjoying maximum benefits. Per capital and national income has increased. May God help India in shining her name and fame round the world and prove her worth as an angel of peace.

 

 Experience of Attending New School

Life is full of new events, challenges and various outcomes. Going to attend a new school is somewhat thrilling because the atmosphere is quite different. When I stepped to a new school with my parents I was mystified on seeing its huge building with long saplings and trees on all sides. It gave me a surge of relief and rest and I thought and thanked my stars to have come to ‘Shantiniketan’. Religious sermons and mottoes along with the portraits of religious as well as world fame personalities were making the environment more lively and congenial. On seeing the result and achievement boards, my heart started throbbing and took and instant version for admission in the school. The mysterious cleanliness was making it a point that specific attention was being paid towards it.

  In the midst of these ideas we approached the Principal’s office. On seeing my ranking position in X^th , He crosses questioned some points and I was able to come to his expectations. He asked for choicest stream of education. Keeping in my choice and the changing trends in education, the principal gave me an admission in computer stream along with the science subjects. My parents thanked me for the best choice. Depositing the dues I went to my classroom and took my seat. After a few minutes, a teacher entered and wrote my name in the register. He passed a few funny remarks.  As the recess bell rang, we rushed out of the classroom. In between I made a few friends who accompanied me to the canteen. We all cracked jokes. They even took me round the whole school building. As the bell rang, we were again in the classroom. Four teachers attended their periods but two taught us. At 12:30 the last bell rang, I returned home in high spirits and I was happy for my admission in the school.
